Beginnings

Founded by W.D. Cobb and ran by Cobb for decades as Cobb's Furniture, he remained owner until passing the torch to his Son-in-law Don Elfsten - Don ran Furniture Exchange until 1986 when Pat decided to take over, right around the time of the mine closing. Keeping the determination that Pat's Father and Grandfather had set of constant evolution and grit, Furniture Exchange is a lasting example of will and determination and putting people first.

Today

After years of contemplating selling the business, Pat Elfsten finally decided to take the plunge and we were there to take on the challenge of not only carrying on the Legacy what Pat and his family had started by continuing to service the Valley with Home Improvement and Furnishing needs, but also see opportunities with how we can better service our loyal customer's needs. We aim to constantly evolve and create a better experience, while building relationships in the process. Check back in regularly to see what's new, or to just say hi!
